Lasting Quest

Delicate and strong,
a snowflake imparts beauty,
opposites combined.

Seeking harmony
in disjoined communities,
nature offers strength.

If only we could
mimic nature’s lasting quest
to seek harmony.

HI JUDY - oh yes, nature's harmonious promise is so life-giving. As we settle in for a light snow prmising to chang to ice and sleet we are blessed by the ever changing promise nature offers - prepares us for life and all its challenges with simple intensity and quiet force.
Love to you
Gail

I also appreciate the fact that each snowflake is unique, just as we. Thanks for another lovely poem.
Peace,

Nature does offer strength...I need to remember that

I love snow Judy. We haven't been getting much this winter. Each flake is so unique, and delicate. The strength comes only when joined by thousands of other snowflakes. We should indeed mimic nature as a way to harmony. A lovely poem.

I remember as a child gazing upon single snowflakes and thinking they were so beautiful. Then I learned in school each was unique and only deceptively fragile-looking. They have always remained a reminder of both the beauty and the complexity of nature. Now, as I try to make sense of a complicated life, I harken back to those childhood images and know that, at the very least, I can take heart from their beauty and strength in fragility.

Mary, you are indeed in snowflake country.

Gail, the promise of harmony is, yes, life-giving. Intensity and quiet force. I can take much from that promise as I face my challenges.

Muff, it was a schoolteacher like you who taught me to appreciate the uniqueness of the snowflake.

Kim, yes strength from nature. It’s there. I too need to remember that.

Karen, I love snow, too, but I do not like the cold. That makes it impossible to really experience them anymore, but they remain one of life’s magical wonders, and that one never has to forget.
