Sometimes It’s Too Much

It should be simple:
weekly grocery shopping.
I came home in tears.

I envied others
walking carefree and ably
like I used to do.

More than once I asked,
How did this become my life?
I got no answer.

HI JUDY - I feel exactly the same way. I went to the grocery store w/my husband and used one of those motorized scooters. Good Lord. I hated it. And today we are going to a furniture store - it is HUGE - I called and they said there is a wheel chair there I could use to get around. Not a happy camper. My anxiety is through the roof.
Love to you
Gail

I used to be the same way, then I just quit. I couldn't handle that chore any longer. I know your husband has health issues, but mine is healthy. So he does that job now, and I've learned to live with his choices. Hope you can find help with this shopping.
Peace,
Muff

Karen, unfortunately I cannot avoid it.

Gail, those scooters are a life saver!

Muff, my husband does as much as he can but he, too is dealing with serious health issues. My support network is rather thin right now, and somehow I have to find solutions that are not more onerous themselves than the problem.

I hope you can find the way that works well for you Judy. I'm lucky - my husband is fit and well, and he likes to shop!

Best wishes to you.

Greek, yes, I am very grateful I can still make it to the store. That's especially a good thing because, except for my ill and elderly husband, my support network is very thin.
