Battle Cry

While battle rages,
escape seems impossible.
I must ignore that.

Even if pretense,
strength of character prevails
over giving up.

Keep on keeping on.
That will be my battle cry
until not needed.

Hi Judy - I pray that you no longer need that battle cry, my prayer for us all with MS, and that the battle cry turns to song of celebration. I hear both, love the son and all too often the battle cry reigns.
Love to you

Hmmmm, an interesting mantra! I often find that pushing myself can end in disaster. So for me, I need a modified battle cry: "Keep on keeping on until you just can't keep anymore!"
I hope I never have to yell "Uncle," though!
Peace,
Muff

I keep rereading this poem today, and it is pulling me through. Thank goodness for my muse.

"Keep on keeping on." I don't think I've ever heard it said better. Bless you!

Gail, Muff, Robert, and Karen,

In what is a particularly difficult time for me, your presence and support have made a huge difference in my ability to keep on keeping on. Tomorrow's poem is dedicated to you and the silent ones who I know spur me on, even as they have no particular knowledge of my current challenges. My heartfelt thanks to all of you.
